An important factor in getting a web site to be successful is to have stable, reliable hosting systems with little downtime and many options. We currently administer fast, secure and reliable hosting with for a range of platforms including Linux, Microsoft and ColdFusion. Our servers are running the latest and fastest hardware available. Our data centers are located in secure facilities using some of the fastest fiber in the US to carry your data quickly. We have reliable backups of our servers through various redundancy techniques and also create archive backups for future restoration needs.
Server Hardware:
Currently, our Linux server hardware includes:
2x 3.2GHz Dual-Core Xeon 800FSB 1 MB L2 Cache CPUs
6GB of DDR400 ECC Registered RAM
Hot-Swappable Disk IO utilizing SATA RAID 0,1,10,5 disk array
Redundant backup solutions to near-line RAID6 protected servers
Operating System: Linux - CentOS Currently, our WindowsNT server hardware includes:Dual Intel Pentium 4 Xeon CPUs
2 GB DDR ECC memory
3 146 GB 10,000 RPM Seagate HDDs with RAID 5 mirroring
2 "Ultra SCSI 2" disk I/O channels
Operating System: Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6.0
Network:
Our data center's network is comprised of top brand networking equipment from Juniper and Foundry. The core of our network is fully redundant, for every switch or router there is at least one redundant hot spare.
Our server is located in Equinix data centers, we have connections to major backbones like nLayer, BTN, ServerCentral, Aleron, and NAC to minimize the network distance to the end user and to build network redundancy. We always ensure our network is below 50% total utilization. This allows peek network performance during normal traffic spikes. You can run traceroute or ping to one of our IP's to get an idea of just how fast our network is.
Intelligent Network Routing
Our data centers employ the use of several network metric tools to determine the quickest and most reliable path to the end user. This is done by taking network samples using very small probes (UDP) across all available paths from our data center to the end user. Once the best path has been determined, the BGP routes are then manipulated to improve network performance. These improvements are done in real-time to allow for quick changes on an always changing Internet. The result is consistent end-to-end network performance for business critical applications.
Because of our Intelligent Routing, network latency is improved on average 35% over normal network performance and almost eliminates network brownouts and outgages.
Our partnered in-house data center staff pro actively monitors our network 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We also use an external 3rd party to monitor from an off site location 24/7. This dual monitor approach allows us to ensure that our network performs to the top of it's ability while minimizing network problems.
